2. How We Use This Information

To generate anonymous, aggregate statistics about QR code scans (e.g., total scans, popular locations, common devices).
To operate and maintain the plugin’s core functionality, including redirecting users to the correct URL.

3. Data Storage and Retention

Scan data is stored securely in the website’s database.
We automatically delete scan records that are older than 12 months to minimize data retention.
QR code definitions (the ID and target URL) are deleted if they are older than one month and have not been scanned within that period.
All deleted data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Collected scan data is only accessible to the website administrator and the owner of the QR code through the statistics dashboard.
We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
We use the Google Safe Browsing API to validate URLs for safety before generating a QR code. The URL is sent to Google to check if it is associated with malicious activity. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.

As a visitor scanning a QR code, you cannot opt-out of this data collection as it is essential for the plugin’s core functionality.
